Service description
Let an experienced lawyer professionally draft a legal notice you need and serve it to the defaulting party. For a fixed price, the lawyer you hire will discuss with you the situation, examine the facts relating to it, advise you on possible legal implications, and do the needful to draft a required legal notice and serve it to your opponent.
Correctly drafted and timely served legal notice considerably increases chances of dispute resolution on a pre-litigation stage and prospects of favourable outcomes in case of further litigation. The most common types of legal notices include (but not limited to):
- Outstanding debt claim
- Breach of a commercial contract
- Infringement of intellectual property rights
- Employment termination
- Termination of a lease agreement
This service is right for you if you would like to formally notify your opponent (i.e. the defaulting party in a contract) about your lawful rights and the legal consequences in the event your legitimate demands are not fulfilled.
What’s included
- Legal advice session (30 minutes). Answers and advice. After receiving from you all the documents and brief regarding the matter, the lawyer will discuss with you the situation, answer your questions and suggest to you the best course of action. The advice session can be held in the form of a telephone call, personal or online meeting.
- Drafting of a legal notice (up to 3 standard pages). Based on the analysis of your situation, the attorney will draft a legal notice and send the draft to you for reviewing of the facts and approval.
- Serving a legal notice. After your approval, the lawyer will send the legal notice to your opponent via registered mail, email and fax (all contact details to be provided by you).
- Privacy. The information and documents you share with your lawyer are protected by attorney-client privilege.
What’s not included
- Study of large documents (more than ten pages in total). If your situation requires examining of more than ten standard pages of supporting documents to understand all the relating facts and circumstances, you need to talk to the lawyer about hiring them for extra work.
- Fact-checking. The lawyer will neither fact-check the information nor verify the authenticity of supporting documents provided by you. You are personally liable for the accuracy and validity of the information and documents provided.
- Negotiations with your opponent. The lawyer will not negotiate the settlement with the opposite party. Any communication with your opponent beyond serving a legal notice will not be entertained by the lawyer. Further assistance is subject for a separate engagement.
- Long distance telephone calls and faxes, international couriers and postage, collections and deliveries. If you are based outside the UAE then probably you will need to call the lawyer yourself, or agree on some other way of voice communication.
- Translation and/or notarization of documents.
- Any additional advice or work by the attorney beyond the scope mentioned above.
